One easy way to connect two wire components is to use either a wrapped bead link, a jump ring, or a figure 8 connector to connect the components. Any of these approaches will allow a connection of loops in the vertical plane, and allow the wire components connected to remain in the horizontal plane.
In some rare occasions, you'll find that you need a connector which connects to one component with a vertical loop and to the other component with a horizontal loop. It is possible to do so by making a figure 8 connector, and rotating 1 loop of the figure 8 by 90 degrees using chain nose pliers.
